This score describes a knowledge-based best estimate of the protein expression in the annotated cell types as not detected (n), low (l), medium (m) or high (h). It is a result of stringent evaluation of immunohistochemical staining pattern, RNA data from internal and external sources and available protein/gene characterization data. Strong apical cytoplasmic staining was observed in gall bladder. Cells in adrenal gland showed strong cytoplasmic/membranous positivity. A fraction of glandular cells of prostate displayed strong nuclear and extra cellular immunoreactivity. Other normal tissues were in general negative.
Weak to moderate cytoplasmic staining was observed in most normal tissues. Gastrointestinal glands, gall bladder, adrenal cortex, renal tubules and Purkinje cells were strongly positive. Lymphoid tissue and liver were negative or showed weak cytoplasmic positivity.
Trophoblasts in early phase placenta showed strong cytoplasmic and nuclear immunoreactivity while the mature placenta was mostly negative. Distinct positivity was also observed in placental blood vessels. Remaining normal cells were weakly stained or negative.
Normal tissues were in general negative. Placental trophoblastic and stromal cells showed strong cytoplasmic and nuclear staining.
