Strong staining was observed in cytoplasm of prostate, sometimes accompanied with nuclear positivity. Islet cells of pancreas, collecting tubules of kidney and syncytiotrophoblasts had weak to moderate cytoplasmic staining. Otherwise normal tissues remained unstained.
In malignancies the protein was specific to prostate carcinomas. Few ovarian-, pancreatic- and colo-rectal cancers had minimal cytoplasmic staining in a small fraction of the cells.
