In normal tissues, strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity was observed in hepatocytes, in islet cells of pancreas, in Purkinje cells and in upper parts of the gastro-intestinal tract. The positivity was often granular/dotlike or concentrated to large deposits in Golgi position, as seen in stomach. Neuronal cells and few glandular epithelia showed moderate cytoplasmic staining. Other normal tissues were in general negative or showed weaker positivity.
Most tumors were negative. Strongest staining was found in prostate cancers, hepatocellular carcinomas and in one bronchioalveolar lung cancer. Some malignant melanomas and skin cancers displayed additional nucleolar immunoreactivity.
