A variable staining pattern was seen in normal epithelia. Most glandular cells were strongly stained. Surface epithelial cells and muscle tissues showed moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Cells of CNS and lymphoid tissues were negative. Malignant tissues were mainly negative or weakly positive. Isolated cases of prostate, ovarian and liver cancers showed strong cytoplasmic, in prostate cancer membranous immunoreactivity. Malignant gliomas, lymphomas and melanomas were negative.
