Multiplex tissue image of the month - CFAP45 in endometrium
Multiplex tissue image of the month - CFAP45 in endometriumThis month, cilia and flagella associated protein 45 (gene: CFAP45) is highlighted among the sparse population of ciliated cells in endometrial glands through the use of multiplex immunohistochemistry (mIHC/IF). The endometrium with its many characteristic glands is part of the mIHC/IF-based exploration of protein expression in ciliated cells. Utilizing the ciliated cells panel, CFAP45 - a component of the protein complexes of the axoneme of motile cilia - is examined, showing localization (green) in the cilia axoneme of interspersed ciliated cells within the endometrial glands (magnification). Other visualized cell structures include cilia transition zone (yellow), basal body (red), cilia cell body (cyan) and cilia cell nucleus (magenta). In addition, the single-cell RNA sequencing data for CFAP45 available in the Single Cell resource supports the mIHC/IF data showing group enriched expression in ciliated cells.
