This score describes a knowledge-based best estimate of the protein expression in the annotated cell types as not detected (n), low (l), medium (m) or high (h). It is a result of stringent evaluation of immunohistochemical staining pattern, RNA data from internal and external sources and available protein/gene characterization data. Weak to moderate cytoplasmic with additional nuclear or membranous positivity was observed in most normal tissues. Respiratory epithelium, fallopian tubes, placental trophoblasts, heart and skeletal muscle were strongly stained. Liver and gastric glands were negative.
Most of the normal tissues displayed moderate cytoplasmic positivity with additional nuclear and nuclear membranous staining in several cases. Strong staining was observed in gall bladder, ovarian follicles, placental decidual cells and skin epidermal cells.
Normal tissues generally displayed moderate granular cytoplasmic positivity with additional membranous staining in rare cases. The liver and glial cells were weakly stained or negative.
